MANILA — We came late to the “Frozen” bandwagon. https://youtu.be/bwzLiQZDw2I In December 2013, two weeks after the movie opened in Philippine movie theaters, I brought my kids to the nearest Robinsons Mall and got tickets to “Frozen.” Got snacks, lined up, took our seats, listened to the Sami chanting the “Vuelie” intro. And was transfixed. It’s difficult to describe just how seismic Disney’s “Frozen” is to a family with young girls. I have 2, and both were at an age when Disney musicals were life itself. Both acted out their favorite parts, both memorized their favorite songs, both burst out…

Clarkson at the beginning of this year made it seem like the project had been shelved. However, with just weeks until the end of 2019, word has come in that Star Trek 4 is back on track, now with Noah Hawley being lined up to captain this proverbial ship. Well known for his work on TV shows like Fargo and Legion, and the writer of that Doctor Doom movie we’ll never see, Noah Hawley…

Disney+ had a rocky launch last week, with technical issues and customer service complaints galore. Now, it looks as though Disney+ has a hacking problem as well. An investigation by ZDNet found that hacked usernames and passwords for Disney+ accounts are being offered up for sale on dark web marketplaces, and users on social media reported getting locked out of their accounts immediately after the service launched November 12. Two individuals who spoke with ZDNet reported that they reused passwords associated with other accounts. If those other accounts have been compromised in the past, the Disney+ hackers could have gained…

Pulling together a gigantic 11-year undertaking like Avengers: Endgame isn’t exactly a walk in the park. When you’re balancing the screen time of characters and storylines built up through the 21 films prior, slotting in an individual character like Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the fight against Thanos requires the finesse and thought that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has exhibited throughout each film prior to that point. Which makes the fact that Captain Marvel’s eponymous lead had her hand-to-hand standoff with Josh Brolin’s Thanos added at the last minute. This story came from Avengers: Endgame’s editor Jeff Ford, as…
